Helpful for patients, families, and healthcare workers alike. This book sets out to do what it says it will do: demystify hospice. Barbara explains in detail the process, the team, cost/ coverage, medications- all you may need to know if you or a loved one is considering hospice. As a nurse who worked in general medicine and now works in end-of-life care, I wish I had read this earlier in my career to be a better resource to patients and families. Reading this book upstream, before it feels important, would be incredibly helpful to understanding the philosophy and process of hospice, so that when the time comes, you will be prepared with questions to ask, know what to anticipate, and know when to ask for more help. Barbara U'ialoha Pa’a Petersen, RN (Registered Nurse), and CRM (Certified Reiki Master) is a Hawaiian Elemental Healing Master Practitioner (HEP), a Reiki practitioner and teacher who lives in the Chicagoland area.

Barbara has been a Nurse for over 50 years and a student and practitioner of Energy Medicine for 27 years. Having been fascinated about her Hawaiian roots with ancestors from Maui, she has studied Hawaiian Elemental Healing for more than 20 years.

That training included several trips to Ancient Sacred Sites in Hawai'i, learning many of the Ancient Rituals and Traditions.
